tuffed full of big-city arts and entertainment venues, surrounded by forested mountains, and sliced in half by a gorgeously raging river, Spokane offers a meld of culture and nature that you won’t soon forget. Unlike its rainier, more citified Pacific Northwest counterparts, you’ll have plenty of good weather to enjoy it, and not far to go. Spokane gets 170 days of sun annually, which is perfect for kicking back on Stay Alfred at M Apartments’ rooftop deck, tossing the frisbee in Riverfront Park, or quick escapes to surrounding ski resorts, mountains, and lakes.
Spokane's neighborhoods range from the Victorian-style South Hill, with its gorgeous Manito Park and Japanese Gardens, to the Queen Anne and Craftsman architecture of Browne's Addition, both working hard to make Spokane the urban/natural visual feast that it is. If there’s one thing that makes Spokane Spokane, it’s downtown’s Riverfront Park. You won’t find a city park with wilder waters anywhere in America, and Spokane shows it off nicely with gondola cars and footbridges taking you right over the raging waterfalls, as well as trails leading you off, in true Pacific Northwest style, to fun stuff like riverside bike paths, fishing, rock climbing, and more!
From rockin’ live music performances at the Knitting Factory to Native American exhibits at Spokane’s Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture, the Lilac City is sure to please. Whether you fancy a long mountain bike ride and then a microbrew at one of the city’s fabulous local breweries, or an art and wine-tasting tour in downtown’s Cork District, the Inland Empire has it all.

Downtown Spokane: Big-city Culture with a River Running Through
Along with sharing its southern border with the length of Riverfront Park, arguably the most gorgeous urban green space in America, downtown Spokane is jam-packed with chef-driven restaurants, bustling brewpubs, good theater, great orchestra, and live bands galore. It's the little neighborhood that could, and it does, nightly. And daily – you’re a stone’s throw from the park, with so much outdoorsy stuff to do, as well as one of the wildest rivers in the country roaring through.
That’s right, downtown offers high-intensity, high-density entertainment Spokaloo-style. (Oh, btw, Spokane is Stay Alfred’s HQ, so we’re loaded with nicknames for this awesome place.) You get an evening of Spokane Symphony at Fox Theater, jazz or ballet at Bing Crosby Theater only two blocks away, and then some raucous boot-scootin’ to a live band at the Knitting Factory concert house just around the corner. Is cultural overdose a thing?
Got some shopping to do? Shop til you drop at downtown’s immense River Park Square, right down the street from one of our best properties, then catch a movie or check out a local art gallery. River Park Square has it all. Too much fun in one neighborhood? Yeah, we’re still not done…
As though it were planned, (it was) the nice thing about Spokane is that, if there’s any walking to entertainment venues, it’s usually through the scenic Riverfront Park. Head on over to Spokane Arena, just half a mile away from our parkside Stay Alfred at M Apartments, to catch a nationally-renowned comedy act, live band, or that convention you came for, and enjoy views of the Spokane River’s raging waterfalls from the park footbridge along the way. Like your waterscapes placid? Stroll the river’s south bank on your way to Spokane’s INB Performing Arts Center to catch a touring Broadway show or musical performance. Spend intermission on the gorgeous shoreline steps leading into the river’s calmer section where wild geese crowd around to hear your take on the concert so far!
How ‘bout a drink, traveler? Another great downtown hit is the Spokane’s Cork District, a walkable loop through fifteen award-winning wineries, great shopping, dining and entertainment, and, handily enough, one that can start at your Stay Alfred travel apartment’s front door. Beer lovers should definitely check out this Inland Northwest Ale Trail map to choose from dozens of great downtown Spokane breweries, with tasty craft brews from Iron Goat, Bellwether, and Whistle Punk brewing companies at the tipsy, I mean tippy-top of our list...and all within, ehem, walking distance of your Stay Alfred.
After a day of play at Riverfront Park and a rockin’ night on the town, you’ll want to get away to a spacious travel apartment with great amenities. You’ll definitely want to skip the cramped downtown Spokane hotels and highly-experimental Spokane vacation rentals. Fortunately, Stay Alfred has the digs for you. Nothing says “your place in the city” better than big, cozy beds, great furniture, full kitchens, and classy wall art and decor that imbues local culture (that corporate hotel shot of the Golden Gate Bridge is great, but this ain’t San Francisco). Plus, you get plenty of room to sprawl out and relax. Here’s where...
Maybe if they converted the clocktower in Spokane’s Riverfront Park into a comfy travel apartment you’d have a better location than Stay Alfred at M Apartments, but that pointy roof probably doesn’t have the space for 499 people like M Apartments’ rooftop deck. And, with the lovely park just one block away, with its extensive Centennial Trail running along the Spokane River, you’ll feel like you’re staying inside the park anyway.
That’s right, yes, we did just say 499 people fit on Stay Alfred at M Apartments’ insanely huge rooftop deck, though most of the time you’ll be the only one up there, kicking back, enjoying the great Spokane skyline views and sunshine, doing your morning yoga, or just waking up with the Spokesman Review and a cup of joe. And, along with the deck amenity, you get a handy fitness center to get your sweat on, and all the comforts of home, when you book at Stay Alfred at M Apartments.
All the comforts of home indeed. Your spacious travel apartment blends contemporary functionality with a classic color palette – and, of course, features you’ll get hooked on, like private bedrooms, a full kitchen, in-unit laundry and a living room that’s perfect for getting everyone together. Stay Alfred at M Apartments boasts plenty of room to relax in comfort and style – just steps from the best that the Lilac City has to offer.
