Downtown is the heart of Dallas. This neighborhood is perfect for people looking to get as much as possible out of their Dallas experience. Honestly, when it comes to Downtown Dallas, it’s more of a question of what it doesn’t have. Aquarium? Got it. Theater? Done and done. Museum? Try two. Art? There’s an entire district. Restaurants and bars? Good luck making it a block without seeing a new one. Retire to one of Stay Alfred’s three travel apartments at the end of the night and bask in the comforts of your private, amenity-packed home away from home.
Meet Jackson Street
Stay Alfred at Jackson Street lets guests get the Dallas experience without even leaving the building! This 19-story restored apartment has a series of Dallas restaurants, coffee shops, and full-fledged businesses on site. Retro themes give your apartment a chill vibe, while cutting-edge features like the buildings rooftop pool and 24-hour fitness center provide a sense of modern comfort.
Cool as Stay Alfred at Jackson Street is, we still encourage you to go out on the town. Downtown Dallas has so much to offer you’ll have a tough time getting to enjoy everything in just one visit. Staying at Jackson Street puts you within a mile of the Majestic Theatre, the last surviving remnant of Theater Row, the once prominent Dallas entertainment center. Now, the Majestic Theatre is home to nationally renowned performers and to shows put on by some of the best talent in Texas. Stay Alfred at Jackson Street also puts you next to Belo Garden, a lovely 74,000+ square ft. public park perfect for napping, playing, or taking a long stroll and appreciating nature.
One thing you won’t struggle to find in Downtown Dallas is a restaurant with delectable foods for sale. It’s fun to go out and try a variety of restaurants, but if you don’t want to venture too far away from Stay Alfred at Jackson Street, then Wild Salsa is the place for you. With Day of the Dead decor bringing the place to life, this refined Mexican restaurant is a great place to have a good time.
The Mayflower is one of the newest apartment buildings in Downtown Dallas. This chic travel apartment is perfect for couples, artists, and those who value comfort above all else. When thinking over where you should stay in D-Town, one thing to ask yourself is, “Does this apartment have an amenity rooftop?” If the place you’re looking at isn’t the Mayflower, the answer is probably a resounding “no.” But the Mayflower does have an amenity rooftop. Featuring a crystal-clear swimming pool, a billiards table, grilling stations, and a roomy lounge area, Stay Alfred at the Mayflower’s rooftop is the perfect place to bask in an exquisite view of Downtown Dallas. Your room features every hotel-style amenity under the sun along with hardwood floors and huge glass windows that let in the natural light.
The Mayflower is in the part of Downtown Dallas that any art student would kill to live in. You’re within easy walking distance of Downtown’s most important cultural hub, the Dallas Arts District. The Dallas Arts District is home to the uniquely designed Dallas Symphony Orchestra, a concert hall ranked among the best in the world. Once you’ve had enough auditory art, head over to the Dallas Museum of Art and relish the stunning visual works on display. Don’t worry, fans of 3D art, Stay Alfred at the Mayflower puts you within a mile of the Dallas Cattle Drive Sculptures, a series of 46 bronze steers and 3 riders that collectively make up the largest bronze monument in the world.
As with other D-Town–based Stay Alfred travel apartments, the Mayflower has no lack of dynamic restaurants nearby for you to explore. If you can make it to only one place though, we recommend Campisi's. This longstanding Italian chain is only a 4-minute walk from your apartment, and they’ve perfected the thin-crusted pizza slice. Bon appétit.
Daydream on Elm Street
Despite the reputation Elm Street has built up over the years, vacationing there is far from being a nightmare. In fact, staying with Stay Alfred at Elm Street will make you feel like you’re having a glorious dream. Get your sweat on in our 24-hour primo gym, then relax for as long as you’d like in our infinity pool with accompanying waterfall! Make your way up to the rooftop lounge for good old-fashioned Texas grilling, or make new friends and watch the plasma TV in our community clubroom. Make sure to indulge in your room’s extravagant amenities and check out the Dallas sunset from Stay Alfred at Elm Street’s 32nd floor!
Enjoy Elm Street thoroughly, but don’t forget about the exciting Downtown Dallas opportunities just steps from your travel apartment! Stay Alfred at Elm Street is within a mile of both of D-Town’s premier museums. Featuring a rotating set of fascinating exhibitions, the Perot Museum is perfect for anyone interested in nature and science, and the accompanying children’s museum ensures the visit will be fun for the whole family. But think about leaving the kids back at Elm Street when you visit The Sixth Floor Museum, which hosts a series of emotionally touching exhibits relating to the life and assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Consider buying tickets in advance! For a more upbeat evening, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra is also within easy walking distance of Stay Alfred on Elm Street, and the entertainment is somewhat livelier.
Now the dream of Elm Street wouldn’t be complete without a visit to one of Downtown’s best restaurants. Nola's Brasserie is just eight minutes from your Stay Alfred travel apartment, and they’re bringing authentic New Orleans-style Cajun creations to Downtown Dallas. Feast on your meal while appreciating the restaurant’s picturesque modern lighting and hardwood stylings. Protip: Get the gumbo.
Welcome to Uptown Dallas. Or, wait, did you leave Downtown yet? The two are right next to one another, so a newcomer wouldn’t be blamed for conflating the two neighborhoods. Uptown Dallas is a subtler version of Downtown, although Uptown is well known for its popular sports bars and hip cocktail lounges. Uptown offers exciting attractions of its own while still putting you close enough to Downtown to hit the most popular tourist spots. Looking for the Dallas experience but not the tourist experience? Uptown is the place for you. Enjoy blending in with Dallas natives having a playful chuckle at the sight of camera-waving moms and dads wearing an “I 💓Dallas” T-shirt .
There’s no end to the fun Uptown Dallas offers, but we understand that business can be a priority. Stay Alfred at MIRO has your back, with our spacious conference room and study area that both offer free Wi-Fi. Work off the stress from your meetings with a visit to our yoga lounge or 24-hour fitness center; then wash the sweat away with a dip in our elegant swimming pool. Your personal room comes with high ceilings, a spacious kitchen area, and a private washer and dryer, and the room is jam-packed with all the amenities a Dallas native could hope for.
We would be remiss if we didn’t point out that staying with Stay Alfred at MIRO in Uptown doesn’t take you out of reach of the best of Downtown attractions. For example, the Dallas Museum of Art is still less than a 10-minute walk from your apartment. But let’s talk about what Uptown is bringing to the entertainment table. Less than a mile from Stay Alfred at MIRO is the Dallas World Aquarium, home to many at-risk and endangered sea life species-all of which can be looked at and learned about in the museum’s five exhibits. Downtown Dallas is known for its 40 bronze bulls statues, but Uptown wasn’t going to be outdone in the unusual sculpture department. Uptown is the proud owner of a detailed 30-foot-tall sculpture of a human eye. Make sure you see it before it sees you.
You won’t lack for food options or watering holes in Uptown Dallas. But if you want a place that offers both, Happiest Hour is a sleek bar with a bevy of buttery bites and tasty treats. Best of all? This bar is just a two-minute walk from Stay Alfred at MIRO, so you don’t have to bother with calling an Uber if you get caught up in the fun of Uptown Dallas at night.
