When it comes to credit scores, SAT scores, and Pittsburgh travel apartments, 800 is a good number. We won’t try to offer financial advice or study skills, but there’s one thing we know for sure: we can help you score the perfect place to stay in Pittsburgh. Our new kid on the block, Stay Alfred at 800 Penn, offers the ideal combination of style, comfort, premium amenities, and an excellent Downtown location that will make your business trip or urban getaway extra fabulous. And when we say “new kid on the block,” we mean it literally, since this building just underwent a full renovation!
Enjoy that “new building smell”
A lot of Pittsburgh icons are old, like the Fort Pitt Blockhouse and Market Square, but Stay Alfred at 800 Penn is all new. This swanky building has been treated to a full 21st-century makeover, giving it all those modern conveniences and contemporary design touches that you’d expect to find in the pages of a home decor magazine. But there’s more to this building than just savoring the feeling of being one of the first guests to stay in it; our Downtown Pittsburgh digs also have a fitness center and a rooftop deck. The gym is open 24/7, so you can work up a sweat whenever the mood strikes you, and the rooftop deck is our favorite place to admire city views, perhaps with a cold beer from Allegheny City Brewing in hand.
Modern travel apartments with the amenities you crave
Whether you’re staying in Pittsburgh for one night or several weeks, you want your experience to be as smooth as possible. That’s why we’ve outfitted all of our travel apartments at Stay Alfred at 800 Penn with the essentials - and some extras - for a truly fantastic trip. From the moment you walk inside (after checking in quickly and easily, of course), you’ll ooh and ahh at the contemporary decor, the spacious layout, and the big windows that let in plenty of natural light.
Every apartment includes a full kitchen, so you’re welcome (and encouraged!) to stock the fridge with all of your favorites for a convenient breakfast or a gourmet dinner. Or the inevitable snack attacks when you watch a Steelers game in the living room. Speaking of the living room, you’ll find a state-of-the-art TV and lightning-fast WiFi so you can watch your favorite shows and bombard your friends back home with photos from the Grandview Overlook. Your Pittsburgh comes complete with total privacy in the bedroom and bathroom, plus a convenient washer/dryer in case a piece of your Primanti Bros. sandwich misses your mouth. Hey, it happens.
Should you have any questions during your stay in this fabulous apartment, you can contact our guest service team at any time (even at 2AM) to get assistance or answers.
Explore our vibrant Downtown neighborhood
As much as we wish you were coming to Pittsburgh specifically to check out Stay Alfred at 800 Penn, we admit that it’s probably not the sole reason for your trip. You’ll find a mix of classic architecture and sleek skyscrapers, and the activities and attractions here also reflect both old and new. Within a few blocks of the building, you can learn about Pittsburgh’s history at Point State Park, people watch at Market Square, or catch a show at the Benedum Center for the Performing Arts or the Heinz Hall for the Performing Arts. Notable museums like the Senator John Heinz History Center and the The Andy Warhol Museum are also within walking distance, as is the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.
We highly recommend tasting some of Pittsburgh’s local cuisine, and besides the legendary Primanti Bros. sandwiches, don’t miss neighborhood favorites like Condado Tacos, Eleven (a chic New American pick), and Eddie V's Prime Seafood. If you don’t need to wake up early in the morning, then you may also want to explore Pittsburgh’s nightlife, including a variety of bars on Penn Avenue and around Market Square.
