Good weather means more opportunities to enjoy dining out in the fresh air, al fresco, outdoors, under the sun or stars. Downtown Dallas has an impressive skyline (like Texas would do anything on a small scale) and some really great patio dining - if you know where to look.
Lucky for Stay Alfred guests you can walk to some of the best views in town. We’re breaking down the best patios, rooftops and balconies and what to order to make the most of your time in the Big D:
Mudhen Meat and Greens - Home to some of the best farm-to-table dishes in Dallas, Mudhen is great for brunch and lunch and offers ample outdoor seating with a view of downtown. Order up the Sweet Potato Mash, Collard Green Spring Rolls or Loco Moco - these playful takes on down home classics will treat you right.
Wild Salsa - Street tacos, fresh guac, margaritas - Wild Salsa is a great lunch spot with an outdoor patio sporting a big and bright Dia de los Muertos mural. Don’t feel like leaving your Stay Alfred? They also offer takeout and delivery - tacos on demand!
The Woolworth - This place is right next to that 30-foot tall The Eye sculpture, but don’t worry - it won’t be staring you down while you dine. We recommend stopping by for brunch and ordering up a few Pomegranate Mimosas and the Crab Nachos for the table and seeing where the day takes you. And if you’re already feeling worse for wear - 1) bring your sunglasses for the patio and 2) immediately order the Hangover- a jumbo buttermilk biscuit, habanero fried chicken, bourbon maple syrup, farm fresh eggs, country ham, sausage, pecan bacon, hash browns, and pepper gravy.
Mirador - While the outdoor seating option is limited at Mirador - it’s totally worth it. Balcony seating overlooks buzzing downtown Dallas - make a dinner reservation, order up a strong cocktail and enjoy the night air over a decadent modern American menu.
Waterproof - We’re saving the best for last. Waterproof is actually in the same building as Stay Alfred on Jackson Street at The Statler. Walk just a few paces for one of the most breathtaking views of downtown Dallas (with full pool). And did we mention it’s pretty much oozing in cool factor? Order up a Desert Survivor cocktail with El Silencio Mezcal, Velvet Falernum, Coconut, Lime, and Agave - and in case you need something to eat they have BBQ Chicharones, Chips and Queso, Sliders and a killer Shrimp Po’Boy.
